We work alongside management during the entire process to implement strategic, financial or operational plans.

Keith Thorndyke
Keith Thorndyke is the Managing Principal of Remergenz Inc. During the past 28 years, Mr. Thorndyke has worked with 30 high growth ventures including two public companies. He has helped start four companies, purchased and sold six companies, turned around two ventures and provided strategic and tactical assistance to others creating over $100M for shareholders in small to medium sized companies. In addition, he has been the CEO or COO in six companies during the past 16 years.
Mr. Thorndyke has engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA in Venture Management from the University of St. Thomas. He is also a certified Six Sigma champion, an avid reader of business leadership, strategy and productivity literature and a recipient of Entrepreneurship Alumnus of the Year and Organizational Leadership Awards from the University of St. Thomas, plus the 40 Under 40 Award from City Business.
Frank Vargas
Frank Vargas is the Managing Principal of Renaissance Law Group. Mr. Vargas began his career in Palo Alto, California with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, one of county's premier high technology law firms. Moving to Minnesota, Mr. Vargas started his own firm, Vargas and Associates, representing a number of successful companies in the twin cities. After merging his firm into a larger firm, Frank helped co-found Aethlon Capital LLC, a Minneapolis investment banking boutique. Mr. Vargas then served as Executive Vice President, Director of Corporate Finance for Dougherty Securities, a Minneapolis investment bank. He also has served as interim Head of Corporate Finance for Oakridge Financial Services Group.
Mr. Vargas is the co-founder of 15 companies and serves as a Managing Principal of Pelegrin Services LLC, a venture incubator, and Remergenz Management Inc., a consulting firm helping distressed companies. Mr. Vargas is a frequent lecturer on a variety of business and business law subjects including: valuing a business, writing a business plan, mergers and acquisitions, private financing and creating incentive plans for employees. Mr. Vargas is an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Thomas on Business and Ethics, and the University of St. Mary’s on Entrepreneurship. Mr. Vargas graduated with an AB, honors, from Harvard University and a JD/MBA from the University of California Berkeley. Mr. Vargas is a member of both the California and Minnesota Bar.
Timothy McDonnell
Timothy J. McDonnell has more than 20 years experience in investment banking and management consulting. Mr. McDonnell has extensive experience in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory and business development services to public and private companies. He has been an advisor to and worked directly with clients in a broad range of industries on matters including capital structure, business development, fundraising, transaction negotiations, and evaluating strategic needs and opportunities.
Most recently, Mr. McDonnell was retrained to help expand the domestic and international sales of a luxury skin care manufacture. Previously, he served as a Director of Corporate Finance of Oak Ridge Financial, a Minnesota based investment banking firm. While there, Mr. McDonnell took a lead role in building and managing institutional investor relations, focusing on deal placements with private equity, venture, hedge and other funding sources. Previously, Mr. McDonnell was a Corporate Finance Vice President with Dougherty and Company, a respected Minneapolis based investment firm.
Mr. McDonnell spent over eight years in management and consulting with the Dallas based RSI-Ketchum Inc. and Chicago and New York based CCS, Inc., both firms with national client scope. He is active in support of several non-profits and served as the Board Chair of Minnesota Dollars for Scholars of the Scholarship America foundation (the entity selected to manage the funds raised for the families of the 911 victims).
Mr. McDonnell earned an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Curtis Carlson Schol of Management at the University of Minnesota, and an Honors BA in Economics and English from Marquette University.
Joan Wrabetz
Joan Wrabetz Joan Wrabetz has over 20 years of executive management experience at public and privately held technology companies. She was the CEO of Tricord Systems, one of the first companies to introduce a commercial product based on distributed file system technology. Earlier, Ms. Wrabetz was the Vice President and GM for SAN operations at StorageTek, a $600M revenue business, responsible for all open systems products, including tape libraries, disk systems, and SAN switches. Prior to joining StorageTek, Ms. Wrabetz was the founder and CEO of Aggregate Computing, a software company that developed parallel processing tools for high performance computing environments, later acquired by Platinum Technologies. Prior to Aggregate, Ms. Wrabetz held management and senior technical positions at Control Data Corporation and SRI International. Ms. Wrabetz has also been a Venture Partner with BlueStream Ventures, and has been an advisor and consultant to multiple public and private storage and networking companies. Ms. Wrabetz holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, an MSEE from Stanford University, and BSEE from Yale University.
Barbara J. Brunzell
Barbara J. Brunzell works as a consulting principle for Remergenz. Barbara brings over 27 years of experience in corporations of various sizes including Unisys, Cray Research Inc., Computer Network Technology (CNT), and LearningByte International (LBI). She has in-depth experience in fiscal planning, strategic development, operations implementation, and P&L requirements. She has also served in many leadership roles ranging from first line supervisor to Executive Vice President.
Ms. Brunzell attended the University of Heidelberg, Germany and the University of Minnesota where she graduated with a BA degree. She attended Adler Graduate School and became a Certified Professional Coach.
Mark Metzger
Mark Metzger has more than twenty years of senior management experience in the manufacturing and service industries. During his career, Mr. Metzger has created value with five organizations from $3M privately held companies to a $3.5B Fortune 500 publicly held company. Mr. Metzger has played a pivotal role in the sale of a company that realized a 7x return for the shareholders, rescuing a company out of bankruptcy, and turned around three companies. Previous titles include General Manager, COO, Interim COO and Division Manager for five companies the past 17 years. Mr. Metzger holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, Juris Doctorate degree from Hamline University School of Law, and Continuing Education at the Masters Level in Business from St. Thomas University. Mr. Metzger holds his Minnesota Real Estate License.
Wyn Davies
Mr. Davies has been self employed during the past fifteen years, during which time he has worked with small emerging growth companies by providing hands-on business advice to establish a solid financial foundation for growth. Wyn has implemented accounting systems; selected and trained accounting and administrative staff; developed and implemented financial and reporting systems; developed business and financial plans; implemented and maintained cash control systems and procedures. In addition, he has guided companies through both the acquisition and private placement process. He started his career with Texas Instruments as a development engineer. Subsequently, he served as a financial analyst in their high growth Consumer Products Group and went on to hold senior financial and operational management positions with Cooper Industries and Federal Industries.
For six years, Mr. Davies also served as an adjunct professor of accounting in the Graduate School of Management at the University of Dallas. Wyn received his first degree in Electrical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude), from the University of Wales in Great Britain and then a Master of Science (EE) from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology. He also has an MBA from the University of Dallas.
